How Your Future Story works
Your Future Story supports students from Year 7 onwards. Students remain part of the programme as they move through school, so the activities and support can change as they get older.
Students don’t need to know what they want to do in the future. They will have time to explore different options, including university, apprenticeships, degree apprenticeships, employment, training and opportunities with employers across the South West.

Regular support in school
Students have regular conversations with a Teacher Champion – a named teacher who gets to know them and can help them reflect on school, their interests and any questions or concerns.
Activities and visits
Students take part in workshops, academic activities and visits to employers and universities. These give them opportunities to try new things, meet different people and ask questions about study, work and future options.
Meeting other students
Students meet others taking part in Your Future Story across the South West. No one is expected to arrive already knowing people or understanding how everything works.
Information for families
Families receive practical information before activities, including dates, travel arrangements, costs and anything students need to bring. Families can contact their school’s Teacher Champion or the Your Future Story team with questions, concerns or feedback.
There is no cost to families for programme activities, transport, food or materials.
